Dr. Hector Caballero is a physician practicing since 1991, he attended the Carlos J, Finlay school of medicine, during his medical career he acted as a non-graduate instructor in neurophysiology, he practiced internal medicine after the graduation, after moving to United States in 1996 he continues his studies and graduated as a neurologist at the University of South Alabama. He proceeded with 2 years of training in neuro imaging at Alabama Neurological Institute from 2007 to 2009. In private practice with Centennial Neurology and Headache center since 2004.
During his residency of neurology he participated in the formation of the Stroke Center in Mobile Alabama, earlier in his career he also participated In the stroke care at Centennial Medical Center and Skyline Medical Center in Nashville Tennessee and currently a member of the Stroke Center at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center. Currently in private practice in Birmingham Alabama, holder of the gold standard stroke care certification by the American heart association and American stroke Association.
Neurology is a very complex discipline that requires extensive training and postgraduate education, and flexible thinking. For more than 30 years he has practiced medicine in Cuba, Puerto Rico, Tennessee and Alabama accumulating a significant exposure and expertise in treating neurological diseases. He is board certified by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons and members of various societies including the international society of traumatic brain injury and androgen society. His practice diverse and large, he is versed in clinical neurology, neuro imaging, electroencephalography and electromyography. Early in his residency training he participated in headaches and migraines centers with a significant exposure to head and facial pain.
Dr. Caballero is fluent in Spanish, and understands Russian and Swedish.
His exposure to multiple cultures and approach to medical care in different countries positioned him to a better understanding of the patient's needs as an individual, not as a disease.
